Short version: PPTShowgen processes all your files locally on your own machine. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or documents to any external servers.
1. Information We Collect
PPTShowgen is designed as a privacy-first, local application. When you use PPTShowgen:
- Your files (images, PDFs, documents) are processed entirely on your local machine
- No files are uploaded to our servers or any third-party cloud service
- No personal identification information is collected during normal use
- We do not use cookies for tracking purposes
- We do not use analytics tools that send data to external servers
2. File Processing & Storage
All files you work with in PPTShowgen are processed locally:
- PDF files: Processed in memory on your machine using PyMuPDF. Temporary files are created in your system's temp directory and deleted after use.
- Images: Processed locally using the rembg AI model or your browser's built-in capabilities. Images are not transmitted externally.
- OCR processing: Text extraction is done entirely on your device using Tesseract OCR.
- Presentations: Created and saved locally to your machine's output folder.
3. Third-Party Services
PPTShowgen optionally integrates with the following third-party service:
- remove.bg API (optional): If you choose to use Method 3 of the Background Remover, your image will be sent to remove.bg's servers. This is completely optional — Methods 1 and 2 work fully offline. Please review remove.bg's Privacy Policy before using this feature.
- Google Fonts: Our interface loads fonts from Google Fonts CDN, which may set cookies as per Google's privacy policy.
4. Log Files & Server Data
If you run PPTShowgen on a VPS or shared server, standard server access logs may be generated. These logs typically contain IP addresses, browser types, and requested URLs — standard web server behavior. These logs are stored on your server and are not transmitted to us.
5. Children's Privacy
PPTShowgen does not knowingly collect or process any personal information from children under the age of 13. Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us immediately.
6. Data Security
Since PPTShowgen operates locally, the security of your data depends on your own machine's security. We recommend keeping your operating system and Python packages updated. Output files are stored in the application's outputs/ folder — ensure this folder has appropriate permissions.
7. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data stored with us to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about data processed locally on your machine, you are in full control of that data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PPTShowgen after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
