- API Keys (Admin Panel): If you configure API keys through the Admin Panel, they are stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on the server. These keys are never shared with third parties.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve our services, such as which tools are used most frequently.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our productivity tools (PPT Maker, PDF Editor, BG Remover, OCR)
- Process your files in real-time and return results
- Improve and optimize our tools and user experience
- Communicate with you if you contact us
Data Processing
Local Processing
All file processing (OCR, PDF editing, background removal) happens on the server where PPTShowgen is installed. Your files are processed in memory and temporary storage, then automatically cleaned up.
AI Services
When you use AI-powered features (slide generation, AI chat), your prompts are sent to third-party AI providers (such as Groq, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) based on your configuration. These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them:
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:
- Admin passwords are hashed using SHA-256 before storage
- API keys are stored server-side and never exposed to frontend users
- Session tokens expire after 24 hours
- File uploads are cleaned up after processing
Cookies
PPTShowgen uses minimal cookies:
- Session cookies: Used for PDF editor sessions and admin authentication. These are essential for functionality and expire when you close your browser or after 24 hours.
- We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
Third-Party Services
PPTShowgen may integrate with the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts: We load fonts from Google Fonts CDN for typography
- AI Providers: As configured by the administrator for AI features
- Image Generation APIs: NVIDIA, Leonardo AI, HuggingFace (when configured)
Children's Privacy
PPTShowgen is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
